Mother of the Bride Dress- An Adventure in Dress Shopping
For someone like me, shopping for dresses is not your normal thing. I rarely ever wear dresses, unless I'm going to weddings or funerals. Even though I've lost 70 pounds, I still feel unsure of myself when buying clothing I'm not accustomed to wearing..... so when I found this dress (http://www.avenue.com/clothing/Gown-With-Crisscross-Front.aspx?PfId=189660&DeptId=17934&ProductTypeId=1), I loved it immediately. It's just right for the level of formality I want to achieve, and it's the perfect color, since the wedding colors are browns, coppers, and greens.
I received the dress in the mail the other day and tried it on. I'm happy to say it really is a beautiful dress, and it's actually a bit too big, even though I ordered the smallest size available on the manufacturer's website. I'm fine with that, though, as I know of a good seamstress who can take it in for me. I'll probably wait until about 2 months prior to the wedding to get a final fitting done.
Now, I just have to make myself stop looking !
